On 24 September you can celebrate Heritage day in a marvelous manner by enjoying good food, fantastic people and proudly South African wine.
On this day, South Africans across the spectrum are encouraged to celebrate their culture and the diversity of their beliefs and traditions, in the wider context of a nation that belongs to all its people. There is no better way to do it than with a glass of excellent Klawer Wine and good company at the annual Klawer Wines – Vure Vir Erfenis – Heritage Day braai competition.
Tasting specialist at the Klawer Wine Cellar, Franci Nortje, has the following to say, “This year’s Heritage Day braai competition will be bigger and better. We invite everyone to participate in this competition where you can come and show off your braai skills in order to stand a chance to win big prizes.”
If you are a braai-master, a braaier’s right hand or pro assistant and your guests keep complimenting you on your great braai technique, enter your team into Klawer Wine Cellar’s braai competition and stand the chance to win big prizes and a lot of bragging rights.
You would certainly not want to miss out on entering if your braai skills are fantastic. The Klawer Wine Cellar ensures that everyone who is present at the cellar on the emerald green lawns will have a marvelous time. The famous singer and comedian, Wicus van der Merwe, will ensure there is no shortage of entertainment. Each team who enters, gets a braaibin, a bottle of Klawer Wine as well as wood to use while you braai. Entry fees are R100 per team.
Nortje said, “This day will be packed with fun. We suggest you bring your whole family. We have lovely entertainment for the kids as well.”
The visitors who are there to support the teams and not such avid braaiers, can enjoy dishes supplied by the cellar. Last year, the lawns around the cellar were buzzing with braai teams, supporters and kids. With no shortage of fine Klawer Wines, the visitors had a blast. A visitor who was present at last year’s competition said, “I shall definitely invite my friends to come and enjoy the lovely vibe next year.”
Klawer Wine Cellar is very excited to spend Heritage Day with the rest of our community, doing what South Africans do best: drinking wine and having a good time around the braai.
