The September market will be overflowing with the essence of spring, with all the market stalls colourfully adorned with flowers and showcasing their finest spring fare, and the seating area decorated with spring flowers from the farm.
It will be the ideal time to soak up the “soft balmy sunshine and the flower-scented air”, according to Groote Post’s very own ‘Grande Dame of Cape Cuisine’, Hildagonda Duckitt, who so loved the West Coast spring splendour with its “magnificent tapestry of flowers”.
Guests can expect delectable and beautiful country offerings including artisan foods, arts and crafts, as well as home-ware and décor. All the old favourite stalls will be back, as well as some new exciting ones. Local, of course, is always lekker in Darling with locals presenting a divine selection of gourmet produce including breads, cheese, charcuterie, wors, sauces, olive oils and more. And a big hit as always will be popular craft beers from Darling Brew.
All Groote Post’s well-loved wines will of course be available for tasting and purchase by the glass, bottle or case.
The Spring Market will present a perfect playground for children who will love the rolling lawns and popular playground as well as the tractor rides, face painting and sand-art to name a few of the activities that will be available.
Music as always will be a key part of this popular event. After browsing through the market, visitors can relax in the shade under the trees enjoying DJ Riaan’s Old School Entertainment while tucking into their delicious eats from the market.
Groote Post’s award-winning restaurant, Hilda’s Kitchen, will be open as usual, but please note that booking is essential.
Please note that although pets are welcome – all dogs must be on a leash at all times.
There are 3 Lucky Draws at every market – at 12h30, 13h30 and 14h30. The winners will each receive a hamper with products from the market and wine from Groote Post, but you must to be at the draw to win.
