SWD vs KZN Inland: Brilliant Pienaar secure 1-Day victory

A brilliant century by SWD’s premier batsman, Obus Pienaar, secured SWD a comprehensive 67 runs victory in the Cricket South Africa limited over competition match against KwaZulu Natal Inland in Pietermaritzburg on Sunday.

After a slow start by SWD – 95/4 (after 23 overs) Pienaar posted 141 not out from 126 balls and hit 2 sixes and 18 fours.  He received good support from Brendon Louw (32) and Letlotle Sesele (31) as SWD ended at 267/7.  Pienaar and Louw shared a 70 runs partnership for the 5th wicket and Pienaar was also involved in an unbroken partnership of 59 runs with Stefan Tait for the 8th wicket

The SWD bowling attack, who were without Marcello Piedt who had to withdraw because of an injury, still responded to the task and dismissed the home side for 197.  Stefan Tait (4/43) again bagged four wickets as against Boland the previous weekend but he received valuable support from Hershell America (3/40).

The summarised scorecard is:
