A bit of a catch-up this morning.  George Tourism reaping the rewards of taking the city to India.  Part of the Outeniqua Hiking Trail closed due to rain damage.  Plett Arts Festival canceled.

EU takes a tough stance on Brexit and opposes the USA.  Rain threatens more damage to Notre Dame.  Kim to meet with Putin.

Mbeki opposes the nationalisation of the SARB.  SABC fires COO.  ANC hiding its provincial premiers.  Malema says the EFF will be the biggest player in the elections and I fear he may be right.

Sasol saves the JSE.  Gordhan says Eskom is not about to collapse – time will tell.  Some looking for reasons why the Rand may get stronger.  SARB warns that if load shedding persists, we will see no growth.

English Premier league draws to a close – Man U need to beat Man City for Liverpool to stand a chance.  Etsebeth & Schickerling back for the Stormers.  Kevin Anderson out of the clay court season with an elbow injury – may be a blessing in disguise.


George Tourism reaping the rewards from India roadshow

In February this year a delegation from George Tourism and their Portfolio Councillor Iona Kritzinger was sent to India to market George & Wilderness as a destination for the Indian market. 

Part of the Outeniqua trail and day walks closed as a precautionary measure

Hiking trails in Diepwalle and Harkerville will be closed temporarily due to rain and opened after the rains. According to Park Manager for the Knysna section of the Garden Route National Park, Megan Taplin, ‘it is great to see rivers overflowing, the trails will be closed temporarily until after the rain.

The long wait for the buses is almost over: residents of Parkdene, Ballotsview, Conville, Borcherds and Lawaaikamp will see the GO GEORGE bus service turning into their neighbourhoods this Sunday, 28 April 2019.

Cape Cruise Season Ends with Viking Sun’s Maiden Voyage to SA

The Port of Cape Town welcomed 22 passenger liners this season. Durban and Port Elizabeth welcomed 15, Richards Bay and East London had seven each, while Mossel Bay had four.

It’s raining golf balls!

Money from heaven is what it looked like when 50 golf ball, each worth R1 000, were dropped from the sky recently as part of the interesting Pink Trees For Pauline (PTFP) golf day at the Mossel Bay Golf Course. This novel idea was part of a fundraiser for PTFP.
