The musical spectacular, Classics, returns to Pretoria in July 2019 and audiences can look forward to a showcase of hits through the ages.
Last year’s production set the stage for an unmatched musical concert experience and the upcoming production promises to leave the audience breathless, with some of South Africa’s most talented artists in the line-up.
“Classics 2019 will give extravaganza a new meaning. We will honour the biggest music icons and songs of all genres and eras,” says Barry Pretorius, creative director of Classics.
“Classics has always been a world class production and being held in the world class, 8 500-seater venue – the Sun Arena – we are set to blow audiences away,” he said.
Music from Queen, ABBA, The Greatest Show, A Star is Born, The Sound of Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Grease, Barbra Streisand, Céline Dion, Elvis Presley, Bruno Mars, Dolly Parton, Simon and Garfunkel and The Beatles will be performed by the country’s biggest artists. A full symphony orchestra will accompany them on stage.
Artists include Tarryn Lamb, Corlea, Amira, Touch of Class, Monique Steyn, Kevin Leo, Boki, Timothy Moloi, and Jannie Moolman.
New artists added this immaculate line-up are the Afrikaans top-selling artist for 2018, Demi Lee Moore, Phantom of the Opera star Jonathan Roxmouth, and South African pop sensation Elvis Blue.
“I can’t wait to be part of Classics for the first time, the artists that form part of this production are the best in what they do and it’s a privilege to share the stage with them. It’s going to be a massive concert,” said Demi Lee Moore.
