Fun for all as Jeep owners go topless for a day

Brian Joss – Every year, thousands of Jeep owners from around the globe participate in Jeep Go Topless Day (#JeepGoToplessDay), during which they socialise, take part in a range of entertaining activities such as trail runs as well as picnics and most importantly, celebrate the Jeep brand.

In South Africa, Jeep Club South Africa organises and runs the local event of which there are about 150 worldwide, with more than 20 000 Jeep owners from around the globe taking part.

This year’s event will be held at various venues across South Africa on Saturday May 18. The Go Topless Day event in the Western Cape will take place at the Wild Clover Farm near Stellenbosch (on the R304). The theme for these events is ‘American’ and attendees are encouraged to dress themselves, their spouses, their kids, and even their Jeeps and pets according to this Stars & Stripes inspired theme to celebrate Jeep’s heritage since 1941.

The events offer live music, American Styled Food, Entertainment for the Kids, Jeep Lifestyle Stalls and Jeeps on display. Visit the Jeep Club SA website for details about bookings and entrye fees.

“The Jeep Go Topless Day events provide the perfect opportunity for Jeep Owners of all Jeep Models to have some outdoor fun while outside temperatures still allow for it, and build some new friendships and create some fond memories,” says Graham Eagle, CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles South Africa. “Offroad enthusiasts also have the chance to showcase their abilities and show off their Jeeps,” he concludes.

FCA Dealerships will also be taking part in this special day with new Jeep models on display.
