August 2019: Stacey Hopkins has been appointed as the new multi-property Director of Sales and Marketing for The Westin Cape Town Hotel and AC Hotel by Marriott Cape Town Waterfront.
Hopkins completed her schooling in Durban, before she moved to Cape Town to take up an internship at the Mount Nelson Hotel. Hopkins spent a decade at the hotel, working her way up to the position of Assistant Director of Sales. She moved to The Westin Cape Town in 2009, to take up a position as Sales Manager. She was promoted to Director of Sales in 2013, also assisting the Sheraton in Addis.
“I am delighted with the new role and excited about the fresh set of challenges and opportunities that it will entail. I have been with The Westin Cape Town for 10 years, and I’m still as passionate about the brand as I was when I first joined the hotel,” Hopkins says.
“I have been fortunate to garner extensive knowledge about our consumer market over the years. And I’m looking forward to putting my expertise to good effect in creating new opportunities for the hotel and leading and guiding my team effectively.”
Hopkins has received several awards for her work, including the Marriott Presidents Award for Sales Excellence, Middle East & Africa in 2016.
