Knysna Municipality has compiled a tourism destination plan for the greater Knysna area. The plan, titled Destination Knysna. Towards a sustainable tourism economy in Knysna, is now available for public perusal and comment.

Tourism conference a resounding success

A successful Tourism Conference was hosted by George Municipality’s Tourism Department to kick off celebrations for Tourism Month.

Environmental Services officials planted 15 indigenous trees on 6 September 2019 as part of Arbour week. The park or open space in Hibiscus Street, Rosemoor was also beautified.

George Fire Brigade handles high number of emergency callouts for past weekend

The George Municipal Fire Brigade handled 24 emergency callouts this weekend (Friday 6 September to Sunday 8 September) including eleven (11) grassburns, three (3) accidents, a drowning, five (5) informal structure and one (1) formal structure fires.
