We are fast approaching the end of the year but the start of another magical festive season.
Benguela Cove Lagoon Wine Estate celebrated the launch of their new Cuvee58 NV MCC last year with the inception of their sparkling wine event, La Bella Benguela. Led by Sauvignon Blanc, this wine hit a sweet spot in the market with its vibrant, elegant and floral character.
Continuing on last year’s success, the estate will add more sparkle this year with a focus on their more traditional Methodé Cap Classique called Joie De Vivre. This 2014 vintage exuberates elegance, a blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that sets the stage for a celebration of all things classic. This year’s sparkling event – Bubbly and Buble – invites all MCC lovers to indulge in the sultry notes of swing and jazz as made famous by the likes of Sinatra, Tony Bennett and the more contemporary songs performed by Micheal Bublé.
The musician Ethan Florus is the perfect match to get you in the swing of things, complete with ice-cold bubbly and food to take you on a flavour path down memory lane.
Whilst sitting back, embracing the “exuberant enjoyment of life” (Joie De Vivre) – chef Annie Badenhorst has prepared a classic small plates menu to stir in some extra nostalgia.
The Tapas Down Memory Lane menu includes classics like a Caesar or Waldorf Salad with an old school favourite prawn cocktail. Guests can also order a medley of meaty delights like beef tongue, crispy capers and sweet mustard, a play on the old favourite Steak Diane and chicken and mushroom pie, or something savoury and vegetarian, mushroom and fennel pie. For something sweet, Annie included a caramelized apple crumble and custard slice.
Tapas prices vary between R45 and R85.
Join us for the love of all things timeless and classic and raise a glass to a new, festive season.
