October is Transport Month; a movement which is led by the Department of Transport. The month aims to raise awareness of the vital role transport plays towards the economy.

It also intends to drive conversation with civic society and business in finding ways of providing a safer, more affordable, accessible and reliable transport system for the country.

While transport month is quite a serious topic, there are many fun activities which revolve around transport, including cycling. To celebrate this, Wesgro along with Cape Cycle Routes – a Western Cape Government initiative – and Vivid Bike Tours recently hosted a group of media for three-day e-biking ride along the Cederberg Circuit.

Cederberg is one of the official routes within the Cape Cycle Routes Network. The accessibility of these routes are essential; however, even for an advanced rider, a 247KM bike ride may not be a walk in the park. To encourage the general public to explore these routes, local tour operators have made an e-bike option available to anyone looking to ride this route regardless of their fitness level.
