October 2019 – Talksure recently launched Aspire, a strategic leadership development programme designed to expand organisational understanding and capability in critical competence areas of leadership, strategy, innovation and collaboration.
“We aim to achieve this by creating an enabling environment for participants to learn, share and challenge one another. This will be achieved through contribution to strategic projects outside of current areas of operation or functional expertise,” says Head of Learning, Maggie Chetty.
This innovative and holistic programme enables each participant to:
- Gain understanding of and get directly involved in the delivery of the strategy
- Gain exposure to the operation of the wider organisation
- Create valuable networks beyond their functional operational environment and across various levels of the organisation and externally as well, where relevant
- Practically build knowledge and skill outside of their area of specialisation
- Engage in a two-way mentoring relationship with members of the executive team
A total of 38 Talksure employees, spanning levels from the executive to middle management, have embarked on this journey of personal and organisational transformation this year. The programme will run for the 5-year duration of the organisation’s current strategic plan, with each developmental cohort delivering to the strategic initiative requirements defined for a 1-year period. Applying action learning combined with coaching and formal classroom and online learning, employees will be required to problem solve and create. “The programme is centred around 12 strategic action projects, each headed by a member of the executive team,” Chetty explains.
