Dark weekend for SWD in Pretoria

It was a disappointing weekend for Jean du Plessis and his troops when they suffered defeats in both the Three- and One Day matches of their Cricket SA Provincial competition fixtures that were played against Northerns in Pretoria the past weekend.

In the Three Day competition, the visitors who won the toss and elected to bat, only managed to score 98 in which Northerns replied with a massive 444/4 whereafter SWD were bowled out for 164 in their second innings for a defeat by an innings and 182 runs.

In the limited over match on Sunday SWD were dismissed for 100.  Northerns only needed 20.3 overs to reach the target – 101/2 – for a comprehensive 8 wicket victory.

SWD, will now have time to regroup for the second half of the season where they still have six three- and one day matches left.  Their next match is against Eastern Province – starting on 18 January 2020.
