New boss has big plans for Peugeot SA

Brian Joss – Groupe PSA has announced leadership change as it accelerates progress on its organisation restructuring, brands revival and business growth in South Africa.

Leslie Ramsoomar has been appointed Managing Director of PCSA (Peugeot, Citroën South Africa) and will oversee strategy, business growth and product offensives in the country.

Xavier Gobille will continue supporting the PCSA organization and work on growth strategies and business development for the Groupe in South Africa.

Groupe PSA announced the appointment of Leslie Ramsoomar today, as Managing Director of PCSA, effective February 1.

In this new role, Leslie will support business development of Groupe PSA’s brands in South Africa. He is a key recruitment to achieve the group ambition of 5% market share by 2024.

Leslie brings over 20 years of retail & OEM automotive industry experience, in both South Africa and international operations, with different key positions and increasing responsibilities in Sales, Marketing and Business Management.

Xavier Gobille, current MD of PCSA will support Leslie’s appointment before moving to other Groupe PSA business development area in South Africa. Over the past two years, Xavier oversaw the restructuring of both sales and after sales at PCSA, signing new and strategic dealer partnerships and re-introducing the Citroën brand to the market.

“Leslie’s mission is to drive PCSA operations to the next level. He possesses the knowledge, experience and leadership to deliver market-best levels of customer satisfaction, efficiency and financial performanc” he added.
