Candy Benson Taps Daniel Baron For New Single ‘Where U Wanna Go’

Johannesburg, 24 February 2020. Candy Benson has fast been making a name for herself in the local pop music space. She is responsible for the hit singles ‘With You’, ‘Flirtatious’, ‘Sonder Jou’, ‘Dit Wat Ons Harte Deel’ and ‘Vat Die Kans’. Now, she’s showing the world a different side of her as she teams up with Daniel Baron on her new English single ‘Where U Wanna Go’.

Candy steps out of her comfort zone on the new single and explores uncharted territory for her as she releases an easy-listening pop-dance tune with a fresh South African flavour. Candy has been inspired by the Amapiano genre that has taken the local music scene by storm and put her own twist on the genre to create a sound that is unique, fresh and, of course, proudly South African.

Cool floating electric pianos and grooving beats set the scene for a mid-summer’s jam about meeting someone new and falling in love. Candy knew the song needed a male perspective to elevate the message and feeling the song exudes and, after working with Daniel Baron in the past, she knew he would be the perfect addition to the song.

“It’s always a pleasure working with such an amazing singer/songwriter like Daniel Baron,” Candy explains. “We always have a lot of fun in the studio and we both get super excited about creating and shaping each work of art – and this collaboration was no exception.”

She adds that “’Where U Wanna Go’ is a fun, sexy, vibey feel-good song and I hope this song makes people feel like having a good time or just brightens up their day.”

Candy is excited to show South Africa a different side to her with this track. Always wanting to push boundaries and be ahead of the curve, Candy continues to make music that makes people feel in a variety of genres and languages and it’s something that certainly sets her apart.

‘Where U Wanna Go’ is now available on all major digital music platforms now. Download or stream it here:
