KKNK Mothership Sessions: Elvis Blue Thursday 3 September 20h00

Elvis Blue says that it is exhilarating and frightening at same time to be back on stage with his band.

He says: “It felt fantastic to do this show recording after being at home for many months. In fact, I felt a bit like my childhood Maltese poodle, Boris, when he escaped from our garden and chased cars down the road. That wonderful sense of a rushing freedom!”

With 3 platinum and 2 gold selling albums and a long list of top 10 hits to his credit, Elvis Blue is a household name in South Africa. He remains a rare breed in his ability to straddle both English and Afrikaans music genres with ease and relevance. With his unique blend of charisma and authenticity Elvis’s shows are known for not only the perfect blend of well-known original hits and new music, but also for his comical and often whimsical story telling that sweeps audiences along in a journey that is both personal and entertaining.

For hís edition of the KKNK Mothership Sessions, this much-loved South-African star plays some of his biggest hits, as well as a selection of his favourite cover songs, with bandmates Thinus Odendaal (drums) en Mathys Maree (piano).  Elvis hopes that viewers will enjoy this show as much as they enjoyed playing it.

Elvis says that the Covid-19 lockdown was a time for him to rediscover the meaningfulness of family. “I have been on the road playin gigs most of the time for the past 10 years, so being home for these past few months have been valuable to me. It also gave me a chance to work on other projects. My wife and I  recently opened our own farm stall, Elvis Brew (a longtime dreamproject) in George. Stop by for a cup of coffee!”
