Garden Route home extravaganza goes virtual

There is a global boom in property sales in Europe, Asia, the Pacific, the United States of America, and Canada. South Africa’s market slowed down in 2021, after a boom in 2020, directly after hard lockdown.

According to the Ooba Homeloans website, residential property sales are expected to show growth, as a result of two factors: One, low interest rates, second, the work from home lifestyle.

Countries dominating sales are somewhat similar to the Garden Route lifestyle. According to a Forbes article (April 27, 2020), buyers in the middle to high-income bracket desire community amenities such as the home buyers amenities, (tick), the Garden Route’s towns all have homeowner associations.

Location and great schools are other factors desired by prospective home buyers globally.

The Garden Route will showcase properties for middle to high-income earners in a virtual event, the Garden Route Home Extravaganza starting on the 16th – 18th December 2021. So says event front runner, Nandi Mgwadlamba, of the Garden Route Home Extravaganza (GRHE), “the aim is to showcase lifestyle in and around homes on sale in the Garden Route in a safe and relaxed way. First up in the showroom are stunning houses in Knysna with Seef Property agents on Thesen Island and Pezula Estate on day 1 (16th December 2021). Viewers can also expect a lineup of fun activities and amenities also showcased at the virtual extravaganza.”

Situated off South Africa’s national N2 road, are the Garden Route towns, stretching from Mossel Bay right through to Storms River. The  Garden Route joins the Western and Eastern Cape.

The Route’s surreal beauty is characterized mainly by its indigenous forests and panoramic waterways. This dramatic setting attracts many local and international visitors to the Garden Route. Towns in the Route are also popular with home buyers from upper-income brackets.

According to the ABSA Homeowners index (June 2021), houses are bought mostly in Gauteng, then in the Western Cape, followed by KwaZulu-Natal.

Readers can tune into the GRHE from 10:00am until 13:00 from the 16th – 18th December 2021.
