The opening batsman of the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers, Tazmin Brits, was one of the heroes for the Proteas in the ICC Women’s Twenty20 World Cup that was concluded at Newlands on Sunday.
Brits received the player of the match award in the Protea’s thrilling semi-final encounter on Friday when they defeated England by 6 runs. Brits hit a splendid 68 (from 55 balls) and held four catches. She, together with her opening partner, Laura Wolfaardt and Shabmin Ismail were also included in the Team of the Tournament that was selected upon conclusion of the tournament.
