Three coaches of the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers attend the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Level IV course in Pretoria this week.
Gurshwin Rabie (Head Coach of the Garden Route Badgers professional team), Martelize van der Merwe (Head Coach of the Garden Routhe Badgers Women’s team) and Jason Maswanganyi (Assistant Coach of the Garden Route professional team) form part of this learning opportunity.
The CSA level IV course is the highest cricket coaching qualification currently obtainable in South African and is mainly for professional career coaches working within the national and domestic professional structures.
Attendance is by CSA invitation only. The emphasis and focus in mainly on team and individual game plans, analysing the opposition and different conditions, strategic planning and management, sport law and the use of technology. Successful candidates will be qualified to undertake cricket coaching at its highest possible level.
Albertus Kennedy, the Chief Executive Officer of the Garden Route Badgers congratulated the coaches for being invited to this elite course. He emphasized on the importance of career path development that involves and ensures that each staff member’s potential is development to the fullest extent and there is a career mapped out for employees in the company. “We have a succession framework in place with the aim to develop career paths for individuals with the aim to assist them in their careers, making them more enthusiastic about their jobs and therefore making them more productive. In this way, the individual skills maybe utilized to achieve the goals of both the individual and the organization”, he concluded.
