Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers opening batsman, Blayde Capell, has ended the season as the top run scorer in the North West Cricket Union league in Ireland whilst playing club cricket abroad in the South African winter.
Capell, who plays for Killyclooney Cricket Club in Ireland, posted 1,682 runs with eight centuries and five half-centuries with a highest score of 176 (not out). His average for the season is 105.13. Fellow South African, Gihahn Cloete, who is contracted with the Knights in South Africa, was the second-highest runs scorer in the league with 872 runs.
Capell will soon return to South Africa to further his career at the Garden Route Badgers.
