With this victory, the Badgers avoided the wooden spoon and jumped two places to 5th on the final log with two victories, three defeats, and a draw in their campaign.

It was again the top runs scorer in the 4-day competition, Blayde Capell, who set up the victory for the Badgers.  Capell (121), who scored his third century of the season in the Badgers’ first innings followed it up with an aggressive 55 in the second innings.  Khwezi Gumede with figures of 4/71 and 6/65 was the outstanding Badgers bowler as he bagged ten wickets in the match.
