NOTICE OF WATER USE LICENCE APPLICATION (WULA)
Notice is given in terms of the National Water Act (Act 36 of 1998) of the intent to submit the above proposal (WU30423) for authorisation to the Department of Water and Sanitation.
Upstream Consulting have been appointed by Mooivallei Suiwel (Pty) Ltd (the Applicant) to undertake a water use license application for constructing a wastewater treatment plant and irrigating with the treated effluent in Bonnievale, Western Cape. The treatment plant will be designed to handle ±300m³ of effluent water/ day. It will be located within the existing factory grounds on Erf 2614, while the irrigation occurs on Erf 2614. The treated effluent is transported to the irrigation area via a pipeline. The project requires authorisation in terms of the National Water Act (Act 36 of 1998) for:
- Section 21(e) -Irrigation of land with treated wastewater,
- Section 21(c) -Impeding and diverting the flow of a watercourse, and
- Section 21(i) – Altering the bed, banks, course or characteristics of a watercourse.
Potential Interested & Affected Parties (I&APs) are invited to comment on the application until 16 September 2024. I&APs must provide their comments, with name and contact details, to Debbie Fordham, at debbie@upstreamconsulting.co.za
