Cricket SA hosted groundbreaking diversity, equity and inclusion indaba

TSHWANE: Cricket South Africa (CSA) is pleased to confirmed the successful hosting of its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Indaba, that took place from 26 to 28 July 2024 in Tshwane.

This pivotal event revisited the resolutions from the 2018 Transformation Indaba and assessed the progress made by the cricket ecosystem over the past five years.

The Indaba gathered thought leaders and cricket professionals, including players and player management, and explored strategies for advancing DEI initiatives within the sport. The 16 CSA affiliates were represented by DEI Chairpersons, CEOs, Cricket Services Managers (CSMs), Coaches, and Developers, among other stakeholders.

Key discussions included selection patterns or trends and quality of opportunities, development approaches from grassroots to professional levels, organisational leadership and diversity, equity, and inclusion, the DSAC Transformation Charter, and sustainability of cricket in South Africa.

The SWD delegation that attended the indaba were Gary Moos (Cricket Services Manager), Albertus Kennedy (Chief Executive Officer), Micheal Eksteen (President), Gurshwin Rabie (Head Coach;  Garden Route Badgers Men’s team), Loyisho Shoto (Chairman of SWDC Transformation Committee) and Martelize van der Merwe (Head Coach:  Garden Route Badgers Women’s team)
