The Cricket South Africa Coach Education Office has assigned Mr. Garry Hampson as the new Elite Coach Developer to support the coaches in the domestic professional structure.
SWD Cricket previously employed Hampson as the head coach of the provincial semi-professional team for five seasons between 2009 and 2013 before he became the Coach Education Manager at SWD. Two seasons ago his reporting was shitted directly to Cricket South Africa following a re-structuring process.
The elite coach developer role will be responsible for coordinating the CSA Elite Coach Development programme, acting as CSA representative for the role profile of professional coaches and interview process, and supporting Members in the Performance Review Process – Goal setting, review, and monitoring of agreed interventions. He will further oversee the Professional Teams Survey Assessment surveys and drive the agreed Personal Development plan interventions signed off by the Coach, CEO, and CSA Coach.
This role was previously fulfilled by Corrie van Zyl, recently appointed CEO of Western Province Cricket.
