The home side (244 all out), at D’Almeida, recorded a bonus point 59 runs victory, against the visitors from Oudtshoorn (185 all out) to move to 44 points and join Union Stars at the top of the table.
For Sussex, Hanno Kotze, a former Garden Route Badgers professional player, posted the highest individual score of the season – 162. Corné Kennedy (4/38) for Union Stars and Rowan Groenewald (4/61 for Sussex) both respectively bagged four wickets.
The defending champions, Pacaltsdorp United (182 all out), suffered a 40 runs defeat against Knysna Cavaliers (228/8). For Cavaliers, Ruan Terblanche posted an elegant 79.
George (195) defeated Union Strs II (138) by 57 runs at the Bridgton Sport Grounds for a bonus point victory. For George De Wet Steyn scored a vital half-century (54) and Shelby Lindeque (4/25) impressed with the ball. Adriaan van der Merwe (60), played a gutsy knock for Union Stars.

Mossel Bay and New Dawn Park will log horns on Saturday 15 February to determine the winners of the Six Gun Grill SWD promotion league. The final will be contested at the Recreation Ground on Saturday with promotion to the premier league be the additional reward for the champions.
New Dawn Park – at home – recorded a comprehensive 8 wicket victory against Heidelberg United after the visitors (who played in the final last season) were dismissed for a modest 83 thanks to an impressive bowling performance by Reagen Kiewiet (5/21). New Dawn Park (87/2) only needed 25.2 overs to reach the winning target with 8 wickets in hand.
Mossel Bay (145/9), who was relegated last season, had to dig deep for a nail-biting one wicket victory against Ramblers (141 all out). For Mossel Bay – Prashan Kanjee (5/46 with the ball) and Tony Ferreira (43 with the bat) made match winning contributions.
