For the Six Gun Grill Garden Route Badgers women’s team’s aspirations to remain in the Hollywoodbets Pro series of South African women’s cricket they will need to record a victory in either format this weekend. The Badgers will take on the highly rated Fidility Titans at Supersport Park in Pretoria in the Cricket South Africa Hollywoodbets in the Pro50 Series (on Saturday, 15 February) and a Pro20 Series match will be played on Sunday, 16 February.
The Badgers showed glimpses of their potential with a much-needed victories against the Knights and Western Province in their recent encounters at Oudtshoorn at the end of 2024.
The Titans are currently fifth on the log in in the Pro50 format and fourth in the Pro50 format. The Badgers, thanks to two victories are 4th with 9 points on the Pro50 log and winless in the Pro20 competition where they are at the bottom of the log. Coach, Martelize van der Merwe and her team, will feel the pressure but this weekend will also provide an opportunity for the Oudtshoorn based team to get themselves out of the relegation zone.
