Joseph Sonti, a development Hub Coach at the Thembalethu Hub in George recently successfully completed the Cricket South Africa Level III coaching course. He also fulfilled various coaching positions in the high performance schools pipeline over the past few years.
The objective of the course is to train and certify competent coaches who are able to successfully coach and develop provincial youth, academy, senior club and professional cricket players.
The Cricket Services Manager of SWD Cricket, Gary Moos, has congratulated Sonti was this qualification. “Coach education is a critical aspect of the overall game development and is regarded as one of the priority areas in our province”, he said. He concluded that once coaches are accredited they need to be further developed in this role.
