South Western Districts Cricket, on Tuesday, confirmed the appointment of the assistant coaches of the Garden Route Badgers men’s and women’s teams for the upcoming 2025/26 season.

The men’s team who participates in the Cricket South Africa Division 2 competition has recently appointed Letlotli Sesele as their head coach. Warren Bell, a former professional player with more than a hundred first class matches under his belt, will be his assistant coach. Bell was the assistant coach of the Garden Route Colts, Academy and U/19 team for the past two seasons.

The services of Yolandi van der Westhuizen as assistant coach of the Garden Route Badgers women’s team has been retained. She joined the coaching staff of the team last season. Wynand de Ridder will take the role as head coach of the women’s team – who is one of six professional teams in the country – participating in the Hollywoodbets pro series. Van der Westhuizen is a former Protea national player.
