Pacaltsdorp United held their nerves to claim their third consecutive SWD T20 knock-out title on Sunday following a nail-biting 3 runs victory against a worthy challenger, Knysna Cavaliers.
In winning the title both their men’s and women’s team claimed the T20 titles of the SWD Cricket knock-out competition.
Batting first, the defending champions posted a competitive 138 all out as they were dismissed with two balls to spare in the final over. In the final, there are always turning points but a vital cameo by Charl-Francois Marais (24 from 10 balls) was crucial in their title defense.
The run chase from Cavaliers was on track but they lost the plot in the last two overs and ended on 135/8 – only 3 runs short. Anaxolo Kitshini bowled a match winning final over as he only conceded 3 runs.
Maurice White – 23 from 16 balls – almost did the job for Cavaliers before he was run out with a direct hit.
Pacaltsdorp United and Knysna Cavaliers has advanced to the final after respectively defeating the SWD u/19’s (by 7 wickets) and Sussex (by 8 wickets) on Saturday.

PACALTSDORP WOMEN CLAIMS SWD T20 WOMENS TITLE
The women’s team of Pacaltsdorp United, on Sunday, claimed the title as SWD Women’s T20 champions for the 2025/26 season.
Julia Hoal (67) and Mochelle May (48) were the batting heroes for Pacaltsdorp who posted a competitive 155/5 in their innings. The new champions thereafter restricted Knysna Cavaliers for 82/8 in their allotted 20 overs for a comprehensive 73 runs victory. For Pacaltsdorp Monique Booysen claimed 4/10 in her compliment of four overs whilst Izel Cilliers made 37 for Cavaliers.
