Kwelanga Country Retreat is situated on the coastal highland near George, providing sweeping views across the Indian Ocean . Possessing one of the grandest vistas in the region, the visibility stretches many kilometres, from the beaches of the Wilderness, to the lighthouse of Mossel Bay.
Accommodation offered consists of two types of freestanding log cabins, all with its own private deck and sea-view. The atmosphere of each cabin is an invitation to each guest to enjoy their stay just one day longer. All our cabins are fully air-conditioned.
Kwelanga Country Retreat also offers a large on-site restaurant, cozy bar, full-sized swimming pool and a jungle gym for the children. There is also a modern air-conditioned conference room with overhead data projector and other facilities.
Situated only 10km outside George, Kwelanga Country Retreat is the ideal base from which to explore the attractions of the Garden Route with your family. It offers a restful and spacious accommodation to overnight travelers who prefer an idyllic country environment.
Accommodation
Kwelanga Country Estate offers two types of freestanding luxury log cabins.
Single Bedroom Cabins
The single chalets consists out of a double bed with en-suit bathroom, a bar fridge, coffee/tea station and TV.
Maximum: 2 PAX
Family cabins
The larger cabins cater for couples with children or travelling groups. These consist of a double bed in the master bedroom, two single beds in the second bedroom, bathroom with shower, kitchenette and a separate lounge area, with a sleeping couch and TV.
Maximum : 4 – 5 PAX
All our chalets at Kwelanga Country Retreat have their own private deck with a stunning sea-view, are fully air-conditioned, supplied with all linen and towels and are serviced on a daily basis.
Restaurant
Not many restaurants along the Garden Route enjoy such a captivating view as Ove’s Restaurant @ Kwelanga.
Just a stone’s throw from the cabins, the restaurant has a large open deck area which overlooks the same bay region where Bartholomew Dias made his cautious landing in 1488.
On the deck, some of the most beautiful sunsets in the world can often be seen. Guests enjoy sitting next to a crackling bonfire and sipping sundowners before dinner.
The restaurant easily caters for tour groups, functions, conferences, wedding ceremonies and receptions. Our resident chef offers a frequently changing menu of tastefully-prepared cuisine.
From our extensive wine list, you can compliment your meal by choosing some of the best wines the Cape region has to offer.
Conferences
Our conference room provides seating for up to 60 delegates. The conference venue is fully air-conditioned and offers a white board, flip charts and overhead data projector.
Since Kwelanga Country Retreat also has a large covered barbeque area by the swimming pool, this is truly an ideal venue for any formal or informal get together.
