People ride for many reasons. Whether it be for recreation, fitness or for time outdoors away from the hustle and bustle. Everyone has their motivation to spend time in the saddle. Sometimes, we ride for charity and this is exactly what TV personality, Ivan Zimmermann will be doing when he participates in the Joberg2C race.
Ivan, a proud USN ambassador will be participating in this year’s race to raise funds for the Hanna Charity and Empowerment Foundation. The Foundation, started in 2008, works via a sponsorship program which connects individual sponsors with a child or elderly person in need of encouragement and support.
Albe Geldenhuys, CEO of USN will be partnering with Ivan for the race too. “I am really looking forward to riding with Ivan. We have spent a lot of time training together and I will do everything I can to support Ivan in raising the much needed funds for Hanna,” said Albe.
Generating as much money as possible for this worthy cause is critical. Ivan is encouraging the cycling fraternity to get involved and to donate – every cent counts. You can contribute by sending a SMS with the word “HANNA” to the number 48911 and donate R10. The funds will be used to purchase a house in Attridgeville for a children’s home.
Ivan will be riding with a tracking device supplied by SkySpy which will track his progress. The link will be available from www.hannacharity.org.
You can also follow the team on Twitter (@IvanZimmermann1) and (@AlbeGeldenhuys) to follow their race progress.
The Joberg2C, surely known as one of the most scenic mountain bike race in South Africa takes place from 26th of April to the 4th of May 2013.
