SOUTH AFRICA (July 2016) – The George Business Chamber is excited to announce the George Business Chamber Business Person 2016, George Business Chamber Entrepreneur 2016 and George Business Chamber Junior Ambassador 2016 competition.
The award ceremony and gala dinner will take place on 2 September 2016 at Bygracealone near George. Alan Mukoki, CEO if SACCI (South Africa Chambers of Commerce and Industry) will be the guest speaker.
The Business Person of the Year Awards are anchored in the notion to “Identify, encourage and reward excellence and competitiveness”. With these awards the George Business Chamber aims to recognise exceptional achievements in the George Business sector. At the same time, it also seeks to inspire budding Entrepreneurs by emulating and exceeding the achievements of those who traversed the road before them. Persons nominated for the George Business Chamber Business Person 2016 must be members of the George Business Chamber. However, persons nominated for the George Business Chamber Entrepreneur 2016 do not have to be members of the chamber. Winners will benefit from regional and national media exposure.
The following are just some of the criteria that will be taken into account during judging:
- Personal qualifications
- Sense of commitment to the George community at large
- Leadership skills
- Growth of the business
- The impact the business has on the community
- Whether the person has recognised standing in the local business community.
Nominations close on Tuesday 23 August 2016. All nominations must be emailed to Ingrid Cronje at manager@georgechamber.co.za.
